Cherrybay was founded on September 4th, 2023 by crlowman as a way to preserve the original Cherrybay he helped build on another server. The original Cherrybay was founded on July 22nd, 2023. The first thing he did was to build the waterfront out of quartz, the same material used in the original. Then, he built a harbor nearby but it is positioned in a different direction to make it look good with the landscape he was working with. After that, he started to construct what would eventually become Main Street as well as Boundary Street, which runs in a perpendicular fashion to the west.

The original Cherrybay was founded by an Australian player to make a town themed around a flowering temperate tree, a tree that changes through the seasons, after getting dissatisfied with making a “cloud village” over the sea that lied near the original Cherrybay. Crlowman did admire the friend's creation, but it was demolished.

Cherrybay is located on a bay in the southern portion of the Squahamian nation. Pinewoods and mountains lie to the west and forested hills lie to the east. An island called Surppline Island lies to the south which also have native pines.

Cherrybay's economy relies on several main industries: kelp, cherry wood products, and wool farming. Although cherry trees are grown for their scarcity because of the large Australian minority desiring to live in a more temperate place, the wood is also used as a product to build the buildings and other things in the town. Kelp is farmed from the sea as well as through auto farms to use more of the abundant sea that the town borders.
